Frequently asked questions
Are the conversion factors accurate?
We use SI base units for each category and exact published conversion factors (e.g. 1 inch = 0.0254 m exactly). For temperature, the offset between Celsius, Fahrenheit, and Kelvin is handled per-unit.
US or UK gallons?
US customary by default for cups, pints, and gallons. UK Imperial pints and gallons are listed separately so you can pick what you need.
KB vs. KiB?
Both decimal (KB = 1000 bytes) and binary (KiB = 1024 bytes) prefixes are available. Storage marketers tend to use decimal; operating systems often report binary.
Does it work offline?
